C47 Work & Experiment Lounge

Art, like everything else in the Community, must respond positively to the reality of the community. Art and Culture must become and remain a part of the machinery that moves us to change quickly and creatively.
— Monica Haslip

C47 Work and Experiment Lounge was created by Monica Haslip, the founder of Little Black Pearl. Her intention was to produce a beautifully designed space that continued to pay homage to Dr. George Washington Carver’s legacy of generosity, kindness, community, connection and innovation.  As a designer, when Monica sets out to create a new space, her vision is to motivate, communicate and share an inspiring message.  C47 serves as a creative hub, gathering place of wonder and joyful communion.  The vibe of this unique space honors nature, culture and the beauty and transformation that creativity and innovation breeds.  It also encourages slowing down to enjoy the process and experience of work, socializing, learning, collaborating and exploring. The services offered are equally as important to us and focus on care, connection and celebrating the beauty of our common humanity.  C47 is an extension of the Carver 47 Market and will offer food service to our members inside the lounge and curate creative industry workshops and experiences featuring a diverse community of Artists, Musicians, Executives, Creatives and Entrepreneurs. The infusion of art, green life, mixed with individual and communal seating creates workspace that is flexible and inspiring.  C47 Work and Experiment Lounge exudes an ambiance of urban passion, southern comfort and eclectic style. It’s a vibe!
